Project Description

The MacNeil Waterfront Park Project, initiated by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, aims to revitalize the sea wall and Overlook area in Queens, enhancing the natural beauty and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. This ambitious undertaking centers on the reconstruction of the sea wall, ensuring its stability and resilience against coastal elements.

In addition to the sea wall reconstruction, the project focuses on the creation of an enchanting Overlook area. The landscape will be meticulously designed with careful grading to provide a picturesque view of the waterfront and surrounding environment. The integration of tree plantations will further enhance the park’s aesthetics and promote a healthy ecosystem, providing shade, shelter, and habitat for local wildlife.

The MacNeil Waterfront Park Project endeavors to create a harmonious space where individuals can enjoy leisure activities, connect with nature, and find respite from the bustling city. By combining essential infrastructure improvements with thoughtful landscape design, the project aims to transform this area into a welcoming, sustainable, and inviting destination for the Queens community and visitors to revel in the beauty of the waterfront.
