Project Description
The landscape design project for Sequoyah Middle and High School in DeKalb County, Georgia, centered on creating a dynamic environment that supports both learning and recreation for students. Designed in close collaboration with DeKalb County, the scope of work included the development of two distinct courtyards, thoughtfully planned to foster gathering, seating, and learning spaces. Each courtyard was carefully landscaped to create an inviting, harmonious setting conducive to interaction and education.

The entry plaza was crafted with ADA compliance in mind, incorporating accessible pathways and a welcoming streetscape design to enhance the school’s front entrance. Sports amenities for the school were a significant part of the project, with facilities designed to host baseball, softball, tennis, and soccer. The grounds also included a synthetic running track, fields for football, long jump, high jump, and shot put.

Throughout the project, responsibilities ranged from preparing detailed schematic designs to final construction documents, ensuring clarity and precision in each phase. Regular coordination with clients and various consultants—civil, structural, architectural, and environmental—was essential to align all project components. Creating permit drawings and overseeing on-site work were key roles, ensuring the project’s success from concept to completion
